Schwarma Spiced Chicken

This recipe is directly inspired by Chef Ana Sortun's Spice Inspiration contribution. She gave us the recipe for a fantastic Schwarma Spice blend and suggested it was amazing mixed with yogurt and used to marinate chicken. So, I gave it a try and it's fantastic! If you have the spice blend made ahead this is a really quick dish to make.

1 ½ teaspoons Schwarma Spice blend
6 ounces plain yogurt
4 chicken breasts
salt

Mix the Schwarma Spice blend and yogurt together. Sprinkle both sides of each chicken breast with a little salt to season. Cover the chicken with the spiced yogurt, turn to coat, and let marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or overnight for even better results.

Grill or roast the chicken and serve with a side of rice or couscous. This chicken makes a great sandwich sliced and served in a pita pocket, or even on a bun as a delicious Schwarma burger. Add a touch of the spice blend to mayonnaise for a great sandwich spread.
