Chinese chile is also known as tien tsin. It has a vibrant red color and is used both flaked and whole in all sorts of Sichuan dishes. Like Aleppo pepper, Chinese chile has a nice fruity flavor, but it delivers a bit more heat. This is the perfect chile to reach for when cooking any Chinese dish that would benefit from a spicy kick.
